PROJECT IN AP ( Increased in Price )

The economic growth of our country sure is growing. The increased in price in our daily needs. For example, garlic and onions were just only 5 pesos but now, you can buy it in such an expensive price.

We interviewed some seller in the market specifically at the Naga People's Mall. We interrogated them with different questions which they've answered sincerely and honestly. The answers were all the same. The main reason why there is an increased in price is that due to calamities and destruction. The main producers were destroyed and devastated so that's why we are all affected by it.

But as a young student we can help our economy to go back to it's high rating by of course helping each other and care for the environment which is the main source of our daily needs.

Typing

TYPING

to input data by pressing on the keyboard.

THE IMPORTANCE OF TYPING SKILLS

Gadgets abound as technology only becomes better, and computers have worked their way into just about everyone's life. That means that learning to use them becomes important to every individual.

Many individuals don't have the first clue about how to type. Sure, hammering out letters using two fingers works, but to be effective in occupations, this style of typing doesn't cut it any more. Not only that, many people find themselves needing to type at home, whether it be to search for information on the internet or write an email to a loved one. Don't forget, phones are losing favor over computers as well.

That leaves people at a disadvantage if they don't know how to type. Communication is restricted and learning is limited without some fundamental keyboarding skills. Computers aren't going to go away, and keyboards are a major component in interacting with others.

So we must learn how to type, because it is very important in our daily lives.

History of Computer

HISTORY OF COMPUTERS

Computers as we know them today have progressed a lot. Today computers are very expensive and very helpful in our daily lives.

The earliest form of counting was with fingers.

Other objects such as rocks and twigs were used to represent groups of number.

ABACUS
- the oldest known form of computing.
PASCALINE
- to input numbers, then outputted them as the answer.

STEP RECKONER
- as an improvement on Pascal's machine.

DIFFERENCE ENGINE
- a mechanical calculator that operated automatically.

ANALYTICAL ENGINE
- can store data in the memory.

PUNCHED CARD - TABULATING MACHINE
- to read data and store for future use.

THE FIRST GENERATION

(1940 - 1956) VACUUM TUBES
Characteristics of first generation of computers

Computers are big.
Computers are not very reliable.
Solve problems one at a time.

ENIAC (ELECTRICAL NUMERICAL INTEGRATOR AND CALCULATOR)
- means of calculating.

UNIVAC ( UNIVERSAL AUTOMATIC COMPUTER )
- the first commercial computer.

EDVAC ( ELECTRONIC DISCRETE VARIABLE AUTOMATIC COMPUTER )
- had almost 6,000 vacuum tubes.
THE SECOND GENERATION

( 1956 - 1963 ) TRANSISTORS
Characteristics of Second generation of computers

Smaller
Less energy and heat
Faster
More reliable

MAGNETIC CORE - store larger data.
THE THIRD GENERATION

( 1964 - 1971 ) INTEGRATED CIRCUITS
Characteristics of Third generation of computers

Increase speed and efficiency.
Power consumption lower.
High - level languages appeared.

IBM ( INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINE corp.)
- it was specifically designed to handle high speed data processing.

THE FOURTH GENERATION

( 1971 TO PRESENT ) MICROPROCESSOR
Characteristics of Fourth generation of computers

Integrated circuits became smaller and faster.
Portable computers developed.
Great development in communication.

INTEL - was the first microprocessor.

GRAPHICAL USER INTERFACE - to add an easier environment to the user

And that is the generations of computers=))

Software

What is Software?

SOFTWARE - these are program that make a computer run. They tell the computer what to do.

CONCEPT

* The hardware needs the software to be useful; the software needs the hardware to run.

*When a user needs something to be done. He/ she gives instruction to the computer.

* This instructions need to be written in a language that is readily understood by the computer.

MACHINE LANGUAGE

it is readily understood by microprocessors, but it is different to write for human programmers.

LANGUAGE TRANSLATOR

to convert that program into machine language.

THE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

PLANNING - DESIGN - CODING - TESTING

TARGET - COSTING

CATEGORIES OF COMPUTER SOFTWARE

COMPUTER SOFTWARE

The APPLICATION SOFTWARE and SYSTEM SOFTWARE.

APPLICATION SOFTWARE

The GENERAL PURPOSE PROGRAM and APPLICATION SPECIFIC PROGRAM.

SYSTEM SOFTWARE

The SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PROGRAM and SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM.

What is System Software?

SYSTEM SOFTWARE - programs that works automatically once you open or boot a computer.

OPERATING SYSTEM (OS) - control the internal functions of a computer. It interacts directly with the computer hardware.

EXAMPLES OF OPERATING SYSTEM (OS)

WINDOWS XP - home and business.
WINDOWS 2000 - business network use.
MAC OPERATING SYSTEM - GUI, graphics
OS/2 WARP - commercial work
UNIX - general purpose, mainframe.
LINUX - alternative to widows.
DOS - command driven.

What is Application Software?

APPLICATION SOFTWARE - are programs installed in the computer.

EXAMPLES OF APPLICATION SOFTWARE

- MS WORD

- ELECTRONIC SPREADSHEET

- DATABASE

UTILITY PROGRAMS - computer programs that acts like a janitor. And it perform particular function related to computer system management and maintenance.

ENTERTAINMENT SOFTWARE - designed for fun and relaxation.

Entrepreneur

ENTREPRENEUR they are the one who makes the world successful and progressive. So I believe that if there are no entrepreneurs this world will be lonely and no one can survive.

There are 3 cluster. The Achievement cluster, Planning cluster and Power cluster.

ACHIEVEMENT CLUSTER

1. Opportunity - Seeking - he always takes the opportunity that one gives her/him.
2. Persistence - he/ she does not give up easily.
3. Commitment to the work contract - he/she is committed to their work.
4. Risk - Taking - entrepreneur are moderate risk taker. They don't risk high.
5. Demand for Quality and Efficiency - he/she strives to do things better and cheaper.

PLANNING CLUSTER

1. Goal-Setting - every entrepreneur has a goal their goal is to be successful.
2. Information-Seeking - he/she seeks information for him/her business.
3. Systematic Planning and Monitoring - he/she systematically plans and monitors his/her activities and performance.

POWER CLUSTER

1. Persuasion and Networking - he/she persuade to convince others. And contact his/her friends.
2. Self-Confidence - he/she trust himself/herself.

Successful Entrepreneur.....
